  • Wrote and received $609,640 for Derby projects over its eight-year history
  • Held Charette I to design vision for restored downtown Derby
  • Held Charette II to assess progress toward revitalization and formulate specific steps

  • Applied for and received $500,000 from State for Downtown facade improvements
  • Held Rivers Initiative Conference I funded by Community Foundation for Greater New Haven to bring national experts to Derby to discuss potential uses of our two rivers
  • Held Rivers Initiative Conference II in collaboration with Housatonic Valley Association to designate river access points in Seymour, Derby and Ansonia. This was the precursor of the Greenway project presently n design in Derby and already implemented in Oxford.

  • Received Neighborhood Grants from The Community Foundation for:
River Kids Program to give Valley children a positive experience with river ecology
Derby gateway signs
Bicycle donation and repair program for needy children
Downtown banners
Summer Saturday Movie Shows

  • Held political education sessions with new City officials to inform them about  downtown revitalization
  • Worked with Connecticut Historical Commission to place Derby's Green on National  Register of Historic Places
  • Lobbied to have City apply to become National Main Street Community
  • Initiated application to have Sterling Opera House named to Save America's Treasures  list
  • Served on committee selecting preferred developer for Downtown revitalization
  • Initiated and maintain Main Street window decoration project
  • Held numerous soirees to promote Derby as cultural destination and publicize the existence  of the Sterling Opera House
