Back by Popular Demand

Save Our Sterling, Valley Arts Council and Derby Cultural Commission will co-sponsor La Traviata, by Giuseppe Verdi, as its second annual opera on Derby Green, Elizabeth Street, Derby, on Sunday, August 17th at 5 p.m. The performance will be produced and directed by Doris Kosloff of the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, and will feature both New York and local singers. Those who attended last August's production of The Barber of Seville will recall the exciting performance by Gary Harger, a popular tenor from Orange. He has agreed to return this year, and will have a major performing role in the production. Details will follow.
